Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RoboList ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. RoboList is operated in the United States and is intended for users who participate in or support competitive robotics programs such as FIRST (FTC, FRC, FLL) and VEX (VEX EDR, VEX IQ).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use RoboList, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Users between the ages of 13 and 17 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to create an account and use the Platform. By using RoboList, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration and Responsibilities

When you create an account on RoboList, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
  • Promptly update your account information if it changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

You may not transfer your account to another person or use another person's account without permission.

4. Marketplace Role

RoboList is a platform that connects buyers and sellers of robotics parts and services. RoboList is not a party to any transaction between users. We do not own, sell, inspect, or warehouse any items listed on the Platform. All transactions are between the buyer and seller directly. RoboList acts solely as a venue for users to discover and communicate about robotics parts and services.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use RoboList to:

  • Post fraudulent listings or misrepresent the condition, origin, or availability of items
  • Sell counterfeit, stolen, or illegally obtained parts or components
  • List items that are illegal to sell in your jurisdiction (weapons, hazardous materials, etc.)
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, including minors
  • Manipulate prices, reviews, or search results
  • Use the Platform for any purpose unrelated to robotics parts and services
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise collect data from the Platform without written consent
  • Circumvent any security or access controls on the Platform
  • Impersonate another person, team, or organization

6. Listing Rules

When creating a listing, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete descriptions of your items
  • Assign honest condition ratings (new, like new, good, fair, etc.)
  • Upload photos that accurately represent the item being sold
  • Set fair and transparent pricing
  • Promptly update or remove listings when items are no longer available
  • Only list items you are legally permitted to sell

RoboList reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these rules or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is inappropriate.

7. Payments

RoboList does not process payments directly. All payments between buyers and sellers are handled through external services such as PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Stripe payment links, or other methods agreed upon between the parties. RoboList is not responsible for any payment disputes, failed transactions, chargebacks, or fraud that may occur through these third-party payment services. You use these services at your own risk and subject to their respective terms of service.

8. Intellectual Property

By posting content on RoboList (including text, photos, and descriptions), you grant RoboList a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the Platform. You retain ownership of your content.

If you believe that your intellectual property rights have been infringed by content on RoboList, you may submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to support@robolist.com. Please include a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the infringing material on the Platform, and your contact information.

9. Dispute Resolution

Disputes between buyers and sellers are the responsibility of the parties involved. RoboList may, at its sole discretion, offer mediation or assistance, but is under no obligation to do so. We encourage users to communicate openly and resolve issues directly. If a user repeatedly engages in disputes or receives multiple complaints, RoboList may take action on their account, including suspension or termination.

10. Limitation of Liability

All items sold on RoboList are sold "as-is" between users. RoboList makes no warranties or guarantees regarding the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoboList shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or any transaction between users, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RoboList and its operators, officers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another user or third party.

12. Termination

RoboList reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
